Israeli attack on Freedom Flotilla has very well proved that Israel does not value human lives let alone international laws but the well-wishers of Israel are silent on this issue as Israel undertakes another act of barbarism and continues to show its real face to the world.

Israel Navy troops opened fire on pro-Palestinian activists aboard a six-ship flotilla carrying aid destined for the Gaza Strip before dawn Monday, killing at least 16 people and wounding several others, after the convoy ignored orders to turn back.
The ships, carrying more than 700 passengers also included three Pakistanis namely, Talat Hussain, Agha Raza (Both of Aaj TV) and Mr. Nadeem(of an NGO, Khubaib, Islamabad) , along with representatives of 40 other countries, taking 10,000 tonnes of food, medicine and other goods to Gaza, which has been completely blocked by the Israelis since 2007.
About six hours after the flotilla left waters off the Cyprus coast, three Israeli missile boats left their base in the northern coastal city of Haifa on a mission to intercept the ships.Television showed footage of black-clad Israeli commandos descending from helicopters and attacking the activists, as well as several wounded people lying on the deck of the ship.
However the Israeli army said the activists attacked soldiers with knifes, clubs and a rifle snatched from an Israeli commando, injuring four Israeli servicemen. Israel also termed the humanitarian aid by peace activists, a violent media provocation against the government of Israel. There were unconfirmed rumors that Sheikh Raed Salah, leader of the Islamic Movement in Israel, had been killed during the Israeli takeover of the boats. continue

Turkey has threatened Israel with unprecedented action after Israeli forces attacked an aid vessel, killing 10 peace activists headed to Gaza. A shocked world has responded with outrage. Turkey recalled its ambassador to Israel and warned of unprecedented and incalculable reprisals.

Two Turkish activists were reported to be among those killed in the flotilla. Ankara warned that further supply vessels will be sent to Gaza, escorted by the Turkish Navy, a development with unpredictable consequences. Israel has sounded an alert throughout the country fearing rocket attacks by Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The Arab League has called an urgent meeting on Tuesday to decide on a common response. Egypt is under pressure to end the blockade of Gaza while Greece has cancelled a military exercise with Isreal. The world is waiting for the response from Washington, how will President Obama react to the provocation from America’s closest ally. (With inputs from Agencies)

Turkey calls incident unacceptable as commandos shoot 10 members of aid convoy dead in international waters

Israel today stormed a flotilla of ships carrying aid to Gaza, killing 10 pro-Palestinian activists and injuring dozens. The ships, several of them Turkish, were carrying construction materials, medical equipment and other aid to highlight the three-year-old Israeli blockade of the Palestinian territory. The Israel Defence Forces confirmed that at least 10 protesters were dead and four naval officers wounded, one seriously. Israeli Arab groups say a prominent activist is among the wounded.
The two sides offered conflicting versions of events, with a reporter on one of the boats saying the Israelis fired at the vessel before boarding it. However, the Israelis said they only opened fire after being attacked by activists with sticks, knives and live fire. An IDF statment said the operation turned deadly after one of the activists grabbed a weapon from one of the commandos, which was then discharged.According to tweets from activists on board the ships, Israeli forces dropped from helicopters on to the deck of the Turkish passenger ship, the Marvi Mamara, at around 4.30am, and immediately opened fire. The ship was surrounded by navy vessels.
Three vessels, under the control of the Israeli navy, were this morning heading for the Israeli port of Ashdod, 23 miles north of Gaza City, where a detention centre has been set up to process and deport the activists. The Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas, described the attack as a massacre. “What Israel has committed on board the freedom flotilla was a massacre,” Abbas was quoted as saying by the official Wafa news agency.
The incident is likely to worsen already difficult relations between Israel and Turkey, with Turkish media reporting demonstrations in support of the activists in Ankara and Istanbul. The Turkish government “strongly protested” against the military action in international waters, calling the interception unacceptable.
“Israel will have to endure the consequences of this behaviour, “a Turkish foreign ministry statement said. The European Union called for an inquiry into the incident and urged Israel to allow the free flow of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

INDIA’S explosion of its nuclear device in 1974 drew only a customary “show of concern” from the western powers. But Pakistan’s nuclear program, initiated in response to the Indian acquisition of nuclear weapons, evoked immediate and “serious concern” from the same quarters. Ever since, Pakistan has been under immense pressure to scrap its programm while the Indians remain uncensored.

That western attitude was discriminatory can also be seen by the religious colour it gave to Pakistan’s bomb by calling it an ‘Islamic bomb’. One has never heard of the Israeli bomb being called a ‘Jewish Bomb’, or the Indian bomb a ‘Hindu Bomb’, or the American and British bomb a ‘Christian Bomb’ or the Soviet bomb a ‘Communist’ (or an ‘Atheist) Bomb’. The West simply used Pakistan’s bomb to make Islam synonymous with aggression and make its nuclear program a legitimate target, knowing full well that it merely served a defensive purpose and was not even remotely associated with Islam. continue

As we all know, the first of this month a crude bomb almost went off in Times Square. It was an attempted terrorist attack by a less than competent 30-year-old finance professional, an American citizen of Pakistani origin who'd recently lost his Connecticut home to foreclosure and gone radical. The man was caught 56 hours after the bomb was discovered. The hurricane of media attention lasted about two weeks. The political consequences of the attack continue, with the usual other radicals in Congress and their amen rabble on Fox seizing on the plot to declare America under attack and constitutional guarantees of due process an even bigger threat to America than terrorism.
Amazing how easily one-off dimwits with bombs can scare off the country that likes to think of itself as the strongest on the planet. That's what happens when the dimwits are Muslim and the targets are recognizably American. It's a different story when tables are reversed and Muslims are the target.
Few of you know that 10 days after the attempted terrorist attack in Times Square, an actual terrorist attack took place in Jacksonville when a firebomb exploded outside the city's biggest mosque, the Islamic Center of Northeast Florida. Some 60 worshippers were praying inside when the bomb went off and started a fire. No one was injured. The bomber is still at large.
The Jacksonville Times-Union did an admirable job of covering the story and editorializing against whatever anti-Islamic motives are polluting Northeast Florida. But aside from the Times-Union and a few broadcast media in the city, that terrorist attack drew almost no attention from the national media and barely more than passing mention in state newspapers. The Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks every hate crime in the country, has yet to take note of the Jacksonville attack. The FBI is on the case, but even the $5,000 reward it put up looks half-hearted compared to the $12,000 the New York City Police Department put up in the search for the Times Square bomber. The FBI didn't put up the reward in Jacksonville until four days ago, and only when the mosque, a church and a national Islamic organization each put in $5,000 of their own. continue

The Pakistan Army is said to have conveyed to Washington its willingness to go into North Waziristan but in the trade off wants immediate end to drone attacks in the region.
In the first place Pakistan Army, it is said, is not willing to be caught in the drone crossfire and suffer unnecessary casualties by way of collateral damage. And secondly the army does not want to move in without first conducting thorough scouting of the area which it is further said, it does not believe was possible with drone sorties continuing their deadly attacks on a daily basis.
Most unofficial strategic analysts, therefore, consider as totally uncalled for the US demand that Pakistan Army should launch an offensive in North Waziristan against Taliban “as soon as possible” while Washington continued its drone missions. ”The decision whether or not to launch the offensive against the outlawed Tehreeki- Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in North Waziristan and if at all when, should be left entirely to the Pakistan Army,” said these analysts. continue

Pakistani security agencies have blamed ‘hostile’ foreign intelligence agencies, particularly India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) for creating trouble in Balochistan.
A confidential report, which has been sent to the Interior Ministry, has blamed these foreign agencies of targeting teachers and renowned educationists in Balochistan, which has long been affected by insurgency.
“After suicide bombing and terrorist attacks, they are targeting teachers and renowned educationists. Almost 80 per cent of the teaching staff in Balochistan belongs to Punjab, Sindh and Khyber PK provinces and hostile elements are threatening their lives to force them to relocate to other places,” The Nation quoted the report, as saying. the Indian spy agency is supplying hate literature in Balochi language to all schools and colleges across the troubled province.
The report also claimed that RAW has been recruiting young Baloch students and training them in guerrilla warfare to create trouble there.
“The Baloch students were cultivated through BSO hardliners by Indian RAW, taken to Kabul for indoctrination, given Afghan passports and trained in art of guerrilla warfare. India opened up Balochistan specific three consulates in Zahidan, Bandar Abbas and Ashkabad in Iran and established refugee camps for Balochistan dissidents in Kandahar, Spin Boldak, Helmand and Nimroz,”
The report also said that India has opened many training centres across Afghanistan to prepare and send trained Baloch nationals to carry out activities against the country.
“India is running training centres in Kabul, Jalalabad, Khwaja Ghar (Takher Province), Khost, Paktia, Urgun, Khandar, Spin Boldak, Dranj (Badakhshan Province) where it’s military personnel in collaboration with RAW have been imparting training to the innocent Balochs against Pakistan. Source ANI

A Failed Attempt Traceable To Pakistan Is News, A Successful Attempt Traceable To Local American Terrorists? Who Cares. What if a pipe bomb exploded in Times Square? … the ruckus if some Muslim dude did the exact same thing to a Jewish synagogue?
America’s apologists in Pakistan and PR experts working for the US State Department and US Embassy in Islamabad are now inundating Pakistani newspapers with fake letters and planted articles spinning Mrs. Clinton’s disastrous threat of war against Pakistan. Apart from the serious question marks on US intelligence performance in the case of the Times Square terror attempt, it has been clearly established that the US government launched an orchestrated media campaign against Pakistan to exploit the incident for political and strategic gains. Here is the story of another failed car bomb, but this time a real car bomb and not the Mickey-Mouse-clock-and-firecracker version in New York City. This one was parked in front of a Mosque in Florida. Since it involves domestic American extremists and terrorists, you didn’t hear about it in the media. Or did you?

A court in Pakistan has ordered the authorities temporarily to block the Facebook social networking site.
The order came when a petition was filed after the site held a competition featuring caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad.
The petition, filed by a lawyers' group called the Islamic Lawyers' Movement, said the contest was "blasphemous".
A message on the competition's information page said it was not "trying to slander the average Muslim".
"We simply want to show the extremists that threaten to harm people because of their Muhammad depictions that we're not afraid of them," the statement said.
"They can't take away our right to freedom of speech by trying to scare us into silence."
Correspondents say that publications of similar cartoons in Danish newspapers in 2005 sparked angry protests in Muslim countries – five people were killed in Pakistan.
Internet is free in Pakistan but the government monitors content by routing all traffic through a central exchange.
Justice Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhry of the Lahore High Court ordered the department of communications to block the website until 31 May, and to submit a written reply to the petition by that date.
An official told the court that parts of the website that were holding the competition had been blocked, reports the BBC Urdu service's Abdul Haq in Lahore.
But the petitioner said a partial blockade of a website was not possible and that the entire link had to be blocked.
The lawyers' group says Pakistan is an Islamic country and its laws do not allow activities that are "un-Islamic" or "blasphemous".
The judge also directed Pakistan's foreign ministry to raise the issue at international level.
In the past, Pakistan has often blocked access to pornographic sites and sites with anti-Islamic content.
It has deemed such material as offensive to the political and security establishment of the country, says the BBC's M Ilyas Khan in Islamabad.
In 2007, the government banned the YouTube site, allegedly to block material offensive to the government of Pervez Musharraf.
The action led to widespread disruption of access to the site for several hours. The ban was later lifted.

After the Times Square case, US pundits took to the airwaves to malign Pakistan for an act committed by a US terrorist. This was a gift from God to DynCorp and Blackwater, reaffirming that America must continue a failed war.
It has finally taken a US Republican Senator to see some sense and admit that there was no proof of any Taliban connection with Faisal Shahzad, and that the Obama Administration has been making its statements in this connection purely on conjecture.
According to the top Republican of the Senate Intelligence Committee, US intelligence had no real proof of any Taliban link at all. This is what the Pakistanis have been saying all along, including the Pakistan military. The TTP itself has stated it had no link with Shahzad, nor had it trained him. Given how the TTP routinely lay claim to terror acts across the world with no hesitation, and often when they are not involved even, if they had denied any linkage to Shahzad that denial should have been given some credibility.
However, the US Administration, for its own purposes, was so desperate to malign Pakistan and Pakistanis as monsters that it behaved in a most irresponsible manner towards an ally that has had its citizens shed their blood for the US cause. In the process, they have undermined the safety and security of thousands of Pakistani students and others living in the US; they have publicly and wrongfully sought to portray Pakistanis in a dangerous light and have almost forgotten that Shahzad is an American citizen.
Ironically, in an effort to demonise Pakistan and Pakistanis, they have also conveniently forgotten that none of the 9/11 terrorists were Pakistani or had lived in Pakistan. But such sensitive details are lost on a US Administration that effectively is following the Bush policies on Pakistan.
Unfortunately, some US apologists in Pakistan have also been quick to jump on this US bandwagon and tried to show how middle class Pakistanis are all anti-American and capable of carrying out terror attacks against the US! No one is interested in the truth and all Pakistanis now are deemed to be guilty till proven innocent as far as the US is concerned. That is why the New York transport authorities (MTA) saw it fit to put out an advertisement directly targeting Pakistanis, which has since been removed from some places but not totally.
The worst part is that Mrs. Clinton as well as the US Attorney General who made the strongest Shahzad-TTP linkage in his statements have not seen fit to either concede this mistake or apologise to the Pakistani people for their histrionics and accusations. As for the haste in declaring the Shahzad-TTP link, clearly it had a purpose. It was intended to push Pakistanis into acceding to more unreasonable demands from the US – such as an immediate commencement of the military operation by the Pakistan Army in NWA and the increase in US troops on the ground in Pakistan. All this has also been accompanied by increased drone attacks on FATA. Meanwhile, Pakistanis stand maligned and abused; but who gives a damn? Source: The Nation

Why did our Ambassador to Washington maintain a strange silence in the immediate aftermath instead of seeking access to Faisal Shahzad? Why did Foreign Minister Qureshi link Shahzad to drone attacks and accept Pakistan’s guilt without evidence? Why Pakistan’s civilian and military leaderships are not questioning the US intent?
Hillary Clinton has once again come into her own true self and issued a direct threat to Pakistan of “severe consequences” if the ‘terror attack’ of Time Square New York City had been successful and found to have definitively originated in Pakistan.
It brings to mind an earlier moment when Hillary, during the course of her unsuccessful bid for the Democratic presidential nomination, had responded to a question on whether she would use tactical nuclear weapons against Pakistan in the context of a terror attack linked to Pakistan and she unhesitatingly declared “yes”. She was also right up there with Bush on the question of the Iraq war until she realised how unpopular it was becoming within her own country. So she is very much in the same mould as Condi Rice.
However, her latest threat has established without an iota of doubt the larger US game plan for Pakistan and the issue is not what the US plans to do so much as what are leadership is doing or not doing to protect itself from this increasingly threatening US agenda.
But first some serious questions that our leadership and our normally verbose Ambassador to Washington should have raised in the immediate aftermath of the Faisal Shahzad episode, which is beginning to look more and more like a deliberately created incident to suck Pakistan into not only doing the US bidding vis a vis North Waziristan but also to provide a scenario which would allow more US forces into the country and move the US further into forcibly taking control of our nuclear assets: continue

The patriotism of the last and the presently phasing-out Pakistani generation has now been overtaken by the questioning mind of the younger generation that is far more educated. This new generation of Pakistanis has travelled a lot, has interacted with the world, in person and on the internet, and is far more informed than their ancestors could ever dream of. And they want change. It is now time for those who wield the reins of the destiny of this country to return to the drawing board and redraw the contours of the future of this great nation.
Over the years the cementing factors binding the people of Pakistan have been losing their adhesiveness. Poor governance, absence of political reforms, inequitable progress, absence of justice, oppression of farmers and workers by the feudal lords and businessmen, absence of merit, non-provision of equal opportunities to each Pakistani and, above all, the denial of quality education to a vast majority of Pakistanis are only some of the reasons that come to mind as aspects responsible for the fractures that we see in our national structure. continue

We are talking about one Jindan Kaur. What about 50000 young Muslim girls taken away forcibly by armed Sikh & Hindu men in East Punjab in 1947?. These girls were brutally raped. Most were murdered and dumped in Mosques wells. Thousands were whisked to Calcutta and even to Malaysia and never heard of them again.
I have no stomach to give details. Just one incident is enough and that is of New Delhi, the capital of Free India. Frightened Muslims were packed at the New Delhi railway station to leave India for Pakistan were attacked by Hindu mobs (on 6th September 1947) and 450 were killed. But the worst was still to come. The following day, more arson, burning alive, looting, murders and by evening 6000 Muslims fled from their homes in the middle-class Lodhi Colony…. and fled to Pak Embassy compound. Quoted from Book: Indian Summer by Alex Von Tunzelmann.
I will not tell you what these bastards did to a train full of fleeing Muslims which arrived from Amritsar to Lahore on 17th August 1947. Out of 2500 only two were found alive ( pregnant women bellies were slit open and unborn babies were cut ) My younger brother Arshad and I saw that fateful train..
What happened in villages in East Punjab, that is a different horrible story which never got much coverage in the Media. But what a little bit happened in revenge in West Punjab, was and still after 63 years is given prominent coverage in the print and TV media.
There are good Hindus and Sikhs and they can be very good friends sometime even better than Muslims but not on politics, military and economic front. Those who were kids or were not born yet in 1947 should know the holocaust of East Punjab and an eye opener for those who love to embrace India as a big brother.

Clearly it's a nonsensical headline.
But a quick glance across news headlines on Tuesday May 4 reveals the two top stories are both about young Pakistani men, one a resident of Lahore, the other with a background similar to mine, a Western citizen of Pakistani descent. The first has been convicted with terrorism offences in India, the second arrested in connection with the Times Square foiled bomb attempt. Now, I have no idea whether the chap arrested in connection with New York offence is a terrorist or not. But it almost does not matter.
Form of racism
Pakistanis and those of Pakistani descent are once again under the spotlight. It's a form of racism and anger building because of it. I travel a lot. In the last eight months I have visited the US a number of times. Each time I have been pulled into secondary immigration, a sort of holding pen whilst your validity to enter the US is checked out. It takes at least three hours and after a 14-hour flight is not a welcome proposition. continue

There is no evidence the failed attempt to detonate a car bomb in New York was the work of al-Qaeda or any other big terrorist group, the city’s mayor says. Michael Bloomberg spoke after police dismissed claims by a Pakistani Taliban group that it was responsible. Investigators are hunting a middle-aged white man seen removing his shirt near the scene at Times Square on Saturday evening and stuffing it into a bag.
Investigators have been gathering evidence from the Nissan Pathfinder in which the homemade petrol and propane bomb was found. The subsequent claim in an internet video by the Pakistan based TTP (Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan) came as a surprise to many analysts and experts, and was unanimously dismissed as being untrue. However, the attempt to claim the incident in itself does raise serious questions and confirms what many in the Pakistan intelligence circles have come to believe – that the TTP, which is not part of the original Afghan Taliban, is working on a CIA/RAW/Mossad agenda.
From their choice of targets to the indiscriminate mass murder that the TTP has carried out in Pakistan in the last few years, they have made enemies even with some of the oldest and well established militant groups in Pakistan and Afghanistan, including the Afghan Taliban and the Kashmir based Lashkar-e-Taiba. Many of the captured TTP militants have confirmed being trained in Afghanistan in facilities run by Indian nationals, working in Afghanistan under the disguise of aid and development workers, and the Afghan national army – under the ubmrella of ISAF.
Both Mullah Omar and Gulbaddin Hekmatyar have repeateldy distanced themselves from the TTP, confirming that it was being funded by the Americans and Israelis, and trained by the Indians. It is also important to note that the Afghan Taliban is a national resistance movement and has never been involved in, nor claimed, any terrorist attacks anywhere in the world.
The attempt to bomb a popular tourist spot in New York City was aimed at causing murder and terror at a mass scale, which coupled with the TTP’s attempt to claim the incident would have made the American case stronger for putting boots inside Pakistan or even pushing the Pakistani military to go after the Afghan Taliban in Northern Waziristan, something that the Pakistan Army has rejected outright. It should no longer be a matter of dispute that US Special Forces in Afghanistan are responsible for an increasing number of murders, whether part of targeted extra-judicial killings or the result of bad intelligence. From the attack on a bridal shower in Gardez on February 12, 2010 that killed numerous civilians, including two pregnant women, to the growing list of executions of insurgents in the Kandahar area, Special Forces have become the US military version of death squads.
As noted in an April 25 article in The New York Times, the offensive against supposed Taliban forces in Kandahar has already commenced, with the “opening salvos of the offensive…being carried out in the shadows by Special Operations forces.” It’s as if Dick Cheney, who asserted that the US would have to operate in the shadows in prosecuting its global war on terror, is still the guiding political force behind such military operations, notwithstanding the fact that the Obama Administration has dispensed with references to the war on terror. Nonetheless, it is terror, promoted by Washington policymakers and perpetrated by Pentagon planners, that is spreading throughout Afghanistan. continue
